GMS Surgent CPA

GMS Surgent CPAs & Advisors is currently in search of a qualified Senior Staff Accountant to join our Certified Public Accounting and Advisory family. This senior level position requires a 4 year degree in accounting and three or more years of public accounting experience (CPA required). In addition, the candidate should have proven critical thinking skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and the capacity to effectively communicate (verbal & written) in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines and numerous teammates.

As a senior staff accountant at GMS Surgent CPAs & Advisors you can expect to grow your skills. The following will be some of the skills you may possess:

• A superior technical understanding of the internal Revenue code, the tax laws of the Commonwealth of PA, local jurisdictions and adjoining states
• The ability to apply tax laws to minimize client obligations, keeping current on tax law changes and  developing client relationships
• Strong audit and accounting reporting experience
• Proven ability to work independently

Some challenges that you may face are:

• Meeting with business owners to discuss tax and accounting issues
• Working with high net worth individuals, including tax and financial planning
• Assisting managers with in house presentations on training topics
